Position Overview: We are seeking a technician to support polymer-quantum dot nanocomposite
R&D tasks. A successful applicant will be team-oriented, have strong work ethics, be able to
maintain records of research and follow processes of records, able to assist in scale up development
work, perform instrument maintenance, and perform tasks as requested to help daily R&D
activities. This position also involves standing for extended periods of time, shift work, and
periodically lifting weights up to 20 lbs.
UbiQD is a rapidly growing company and applicants must be comfortable working in a dynamic
and high energy environment where individuals are expected to shoulder broad responsibilities
and sometimes work independently. Requires working at on-site in Los Alamos, NM.
Job Requirements
• High School graduate.
• Ability to follow guidelines and requirements of the team.
• Ability to pick up new skills quickly to support daily R&D activities.
• Ability to work in scaled up development processes from lab scale research.
• Strong record keeping abilities.
• Ability to handle materials in a chemistry lab setting following all safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work in a team.
• Residence in or re-location to Los Alamos, NM.
• Be eligible to work in the USA and over the age of 18.
Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in materials science, chemistry, or related field
• Basic knowledge and experience in polymer science, composite materials and extrusion
process of polymers
• Experience in high-throughput production work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
